Whichever way people voted, Aboriginal people in the Goldfields are feeling the impact of the outcome of the Referendum. The lead up to the Referendum has been very difficult, and we at NTSG have been deeply saddened by the amplification of racism and misinformation directed towards Aboriginal people.
While the Voice to Parliament was unsuccessful, we know that traditional owners across the Goldfields will continue to demand their voices be heard, with undiminished strength and pride. Nothing will stop Aboriginal people from pursuing positive change for their communities, and NTSG is proud to stand alongside them.
For now, we encourage our constituents to spend time with your families, get out on country and to reach out to the support services available.
