The NIAA (National Indigenous Australians Agency) is holding consultation sessions to discuss their proposals for an Indigenous Voice – a Local and Regional Voice proposal, and a National Voice proposal. The NIAA intends to submit these to the government to establish community groups. The groups would provide advice and influence government policy and laws at a local community and a federal level.
The proposals are still at a very early stage and the NIAA is holding consultation meetings across Australia, to get feedback and ideas from the community. The Kalgoorlie consultation will take place on the 19th of April.
