The consent determination hearing of the Tjalkadjara native title claim is listed for Monday 14 September 2026. Due to security and weather-related concerns, the Federal Court of Australia has changed the location of the consent determination hearing.
We regret to inform you that this hearing will no longer be held on country.
The consent determination will now take place at the Federal Court of Australia in Perth. The proceedings will also be live streamed via YouTube to allow for remote attendance by persons who are unable to attend in person.

We recognise that this outcome will come as a significant disappointment to many members of the Tjalkadjara claim group, who have been looking forward to marking this important milestone together.
Subject to the support of the Tjalkadjara Aboriginal Corporation, which will be the Registered Native Title Body Corporate for the Tjalkadjara native title holders, NTSG intends to hold a consent determination celebration at a later date.
We anticipate that this will take place before the end of the year, in conjunction with the Annual General Meeting of the Tjalkadjara Aboriginal Corporation and Common Law Holders Meeting.
